Magoo is a progressive bluegrass quartet outta Denver, Colorado, pushing the sound forward while keeping one foot planted deep in tradition. They known for high energy live shows, fearless creativity, and musicianship that don’t miss; a mix of tight three-part harmonies, intricate arrangements, and long-form improvisation that stretch bluegrass into something fresh and alive.

Their debut album What a Life drops February 2026, and it’s a full snapshot of who they are…. heartfelt songwriting, soaring instrumental moments, and a bold take on modern bluegrass. The record features a special guest appearance from bluegrass legend Sam Bush on fiddle and harmony vocals, with mastering by two-time GRAMMY Award winner David Glasser at Airshow Mastering.

Every member brings their own sauce to the pot. Dobroist Dylan Flynn, winner of the 2024 RockyGrass Dobro Competition, brings soul and warmth to the sound. Guitarist Erik Hill, runner-up in the RockyGrass Flatpicking Contest, drives the rhythm with power and precision. Mandolinist Courtlyn Bills comes through with fiery solos and inventive arrangements, while bassist Denton Turner locks everything in with groove, feel, and subtle dynamics. Together, it’s a sound that’s rich, cohesive, and unmistakably Magoo.

They already racked up first place at UllrGrass Band Competition and Clash of the Strings, second place at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival Band Competition, plus a sold-out headlining show at Globe Hall in Denver. Festival runs at Winter WonderGrass, Grand Lake Folk Festival, RapidGrass, and Huck Finn Jubilee got folks paying attention heavy.

With What a Life on the way, Magoo sitting right at the crossroads of tradition and innovation and they are moving fast.

Kicking off the night will be Randy Steele and High Cold Wind! Randy Steele and the High Cold Wind are a high energy bluegrass band based out of Chattanooga Tennessee.
