A songwriter first and foremost\, her perceptive writing reaches far beyond her 23 years. Critics have praised her signature style for its clever wordplay\, layered meanings\, and rhythmic nuance\, drawing comparisons to legendary writers such as Joni Mitchell and Paul Simon. \nBorn and raised in Sumner\, Washington\, the self-proclaimed “Rhubarb Pie Capital of the World\,” Day discovered music at an early age. She experimented on piano\, ukulele\, and drums before beginning to write songs as a teenager. What started as angsty preteen songwriting quickly evolved into a confident artistic voice. \nAfter overcoming stage fright in college\, Day began performing her original music at farmers markets and local restaurants.
