A musical jack-of-all-trades, Day is known for her heartfelt lyricism, raw delivery, and unforgettable melodies that feel both fresh and familiar. A songwriter first and foremost, her perceptive writing reaches far beyond her 23 years. Critics have praised her signature style for its clever wordplay, layered meanings, and rhythmic nuance, drawing comparisons to legendary writers such as Joni Mitchell and Paul Simon.
Born and raised in Sumner, Washington, the self-proclaimed “Rhubarb Pie Capital of the World,” Day discovered music at an early age. She experimented on piano, ukulele, and drums before beginning to write songs as a teenager. What started as angsty preteen songwriting quickly evolved into a confident artistic voice.
After overcoming stage fright in college, Day began performing her original music at farmers markets and local restaurants. Those early performances led to sold-out shows in Seattle, Boston, and Washington, D.C., as well as festival appearances at Bumbershoot, Capitol Hill Block Party, Folklife Festival, and Seattle PrideFest.
A true multi-instrumentalist, Day moves effortlessly between guitar, keys, bass, and drums during her live performances. At times she steps away from the instruments entirely, commanding the stage with nothing but her voice and presence. Her shows are known for emotional honesty, joyful energy, and a deep connection with audiences.
Her upcoming EP EGO TRIP is her most personal project yet. Led by the single “Lady Los Angeles”, the record explores themes of betrayal, grief, identity, and the seductive pull of fame. With more than a million streams across her catalog and a reputation for unforgettable performances, Amelia Day is emerging as a powerful new voice in modern songwriting.
